Yoga Retreat to Roatan

Head to the beautiful tropical island of Roatan where you will walk with your toes in the sand, snorkel in the clear blue waters, and practice yoga with breathtaking views of the sea!

Our retreat location is located right on the beach, so you will be able to take full advantage of the water. We’ll also venture on a half day snorkel trip, and a full day trip of the island to see sloths, monkeys, and more!

Rooms

All rooms have air conditioning and fans, but the levered windows also allow the cool breeze and the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep.

Food

A breakfast buffet will be provided in the mornings.

Lunch will be a mix of rice, beans, veggies, plantains, mashed potatoes, with fish, shrimps, chicken, or tofu.

For dinner, a variety of pastas (Avocado, Pesto, Spinach) and on the last day a special beach dinner with a bonfire.

Most meals can accommodate vegan and vegetarian needs. Gluten free may not be able to be accommodated. 

Hiking and Adventures

Part of this trip will include a tour of part of the island where you will also get to visit a sloth sanctuary!

We will also take full advantage of staying on the beach with a half-day snorkel trip in one of the most beautiful locations in the world with clear blue water. SUPs and kayaks are also available.

Our retreat location is right on the beach, so you may never want to leave! However, there are some lovely hiking spots around the island if you would like to venture out. You will need to arrange your own transportation for any additional trips outside of group activities.

Yoga Classes

Each morning will offer a 60-minute vigorous vinyasa style yoga class on the sea view yoga deck. Evenings will slow things down with yin, restorative, and gentle classes. Mats, blocks, and straps are provided, but you may choose to bring your own yoga supplies. 

Evening yoga classes will be a slower pace designed to wind things down for the evening and get your ready for bed. 

Two yoga workshops will also be offered. 

Register

To register, please complete the registration form and submit your $800 deposit. A $1,000 installment will be due November 15, 2023, and the remaining balance due February 15, 2024. Save $100 per person ($200) or $100 off single rate if you pay in full! Register by August 1, 2023 and save $50 per person ($100) off the double and $50 off single rate.

Each participant must complete the registration form and submit a deposit, even if you are travelling together.

Scuba Diving - Add Ons

If you love to scuba diver, Roatan will offer you an unforgettable experience! Scuba trips will be organized for the group if you are interested in joining. 

This is an add-on experience and will require an additional fee. More information will be available when registration has reached a certain level. Must be open water certified prior to trip to participate.

Angelina is a ERYT500, YACEP travelling yoga teacher who has been teaching yoga since 2010. Leading yoga retreats across the globe is her passion and you’ll find her classes to be energizing and full of fun.

What's Not Included

Airfare, care rental, transportation other than designated as part of the trip, taxes, gratuities, travel insurance, dinners, alcoholic beverages other than at the designated activities, water/other activities in town, rentals at the hotel, additional excursions, massages.

Cancellation/Refunds: Deposits are non-refundable. Payment installments are non-refundable after being paid unless your spot can be filled by another person, and any refund will be less a $140 transaction fee. No refunds are guaranteed. If retreat is canceled due to low enrollment, full refunds will be made. Read the full terms for the trip.

*This is dependent on the harvest for 2023. There is no way to predict what the weather will be like, so harvest may not coincide with our trip.

FAQ

Fly into Roatan (RTB), Juan Manuel Galvez International. 

No flights or transportation outside of planned activities and the pick up and drop off a the airport are included with registration. 

American has flights that connect in Miami (MIA) from IAD, and United has flights that connect in Houston (IAH) from IAD. 

We are meeting as a group at the Roatan International Airport on May 19, 2024. Transportation from there to the retreat and return are included. Transportation to all planned activities are also included. You may still elect to rent a car and travel on your own. 

More information on the meeting location and time will be included closer to the date for participants to arrange their own flights and travel plans. 

US citizens are not required to get a Visa to visit Honduras or Roatan prior to arrival. You will be given a Visa upon arrival valid for 90 days. You must make sure that your passport does not expire within six months of your arrival and departure dates. Non-US citizens should check with their embassy on requirements. 

It is your responsibility to stay up to date on all travel requirements for the trip. US citizens can find travel information here

All travelers should stay up to date on COVID and other travel restrictions from their destination and any connecting locations.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. A good place to start is calling your homeowner or rental insurance company. World Nomads is a reputable company you may wish to get a quote from. We do not specifically endorse any travel insurance plans. It is solely up to you to find and purchase travel insurance.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to wait for you if you miss the group meet up to the retreat center. You will need to arrange your own transfer via taxi or shared shuttle.

You may also decide to rent a car for your time there. 

Check in is at 4pm May 19. If you are meeting us at the airport, you will arrive with the group. 

Check out is 10am May 25 and we will travel to Porto together around 12:30pm. 

Gratuities for drivers, staff, massages, and any other services are not included in your registration. Please plan to have some small US Dollars for tips. 

You will be asked to leave around $100-$200 per person as a tip for the staff at the retreat center at the end of the trip. Please plan to have cash in US Dollars to contribute.  

The closest town is Camp Bay which has some small markets. The west end has larger towns to visit like Coxen Hole. 

All meals are included from Sunday dinner through Saturday breakfast with the exception of one lunch on your own in town where you will have access to local restaurants and cafes. 

Breakfast will be buffet.

Lunch and dinner will be a mix of beans, rice, plantains, pastas, etc. Dishes will contain a mix of seafood and chicken. 

Vegan and vegetarian options will be made available.

Gluten free or other restrictive diets may not be able to be accommodated. 

Yes, the center has Wifi available.

All rooms with the exception of Lime have air conditioning. All rooms have fans.

Yes, you can book a massage at the center after arrival.

The retreat includes on day trip around the island and a half-day snorkel trip.

The center offers kite surfing lessons if you are interested in taking them.

Many hiking trails are also accessible. The retreat center can help you arrange tours if you would like to add any on after your arrival.

Yoga classes will be each morning before breakfast in a vigorous vinyasa style. Classes will offer many variations and modifications to offer an “all-levels” class. 

There will also be a yoga workshop, details to come.

The retreat center has mats, blocks, and straps. Please bring any additional props you may wish to use.

We recommend bringing a mat towel or travel mat to cover the provided mats, but this is not required. 

There is not laundry service provided, but arrangements can be made if needed. 

Your deposit is non-refundable.

Any additional monies paid are non-refundable after being paid unless your spot can be filled with another participant. If your spot is able to be filled, any refunds will be less the $800 deposit and a $140 processing fee.

If the retreat is canceled due to low attendance, full refunds will be made. 

If you are travelling by yourself and would like to sign up for a double, you may sign up to be on the waitlist to see if another person to share a room with registers. You do not need to pay the deposit to be put on the waitlist, please indicate on the form that this is the option you are looking for. You will know no later than December 1, 2023 if a roommate has been able to be located or not. At the time a roommate has been found, both people sharing the room must pay their $800 deposit and the remaining payments installments. There is no guarantee we will be able to find a roommate, and bookings as singles and doubles/pairs will have priority.

If you are travelling solo and want to book a shared room, you will be paired with someone of the same sex. This is why we ask for this information on the registration form. If you are paired in a unit with two rooms, roommate may be of opposite sex.

Because it is located on the beach, the retreat center must be navigated by sand and walkways which may make it tricky to get around. 

If you are able to walk up one flight of stairs unassisted, you may consider booking any of the main level rooms to avoid stairs. The yoga deck is only accessible via one staircase.

Additionally, the snorkeling and other activities may be difficult to navigate if you are uncomfortable climbing stairs or walking on dirt trails.

We will have a maximum of 16 guests on this holiday, so make sure to book your spot early!

Yes! You will receive between 10 and 14 Yoga Alliance CEUs depending on how many of the yoga classes and activities you attend.
